    REGATTA RESULTS

    PAN PACIFIC MASTERS GAMES QUEENSLAND

November 24: Our paddlers headed to The Gold Coast for the Biannual Pan Pacific Masters games. Play it ! Live It Love it !  A first time ever for JBOCC the crews who had trained hard throughout winter sharpening their skills and embracing  the spirt of  the games. They raced OC12, OC6 & OC2 Outriggers over the two days  in varying distances. A great team experience which  we all enjoyed. We are ready to go again in 2026.

    PACIFIC DRAGONS REGATTA LA PEROUSE

OCTOBER 2024: Our paddlers headed to Frenchman's Bay Reserve where they participated in the novice race the first race of the season. The crew started strongly and headed toward Bare Island and came home with a bronze medal. A fabulous start to the season.

    NSW STATE TITLES REGATTA

APRIL 2024: Two JBOCC crews raced at beautiful Shoal Bay Beach in the NSW State Titles Marathon Outrigger Canoe Regatta on Saturday, 6 April 2024. Hosted jointly by Swansea and Port Stephens Outrigger Canoe Clubs, our novice women's crew was awarded gold in the 8km novice race category, and our mixed crew tackled and finished the 12km short-course race. After the rain and clouds disappeared, the sun emerged, and our teams loved the competitive paddling and time spent with crew mates who are also great friends.  A wonderful end to a competitive season. And our sincere thanks to our fantastic hosts.

    PORT HACKING REGATTA

MARCH 2024: JBOCC's novice crew were at Gunamatta Park for a regatta hosted by Port Hacking Outriggers Club on Saturday, 24 March 2024.  Our awesome crew took on the 10km course, smashed it completely, grabbed themselves some gold medals as they glided across the finishing line, and still had plenty of energy to hoist Steerer Les into the air. Next up: Port Stephens. Bring it on!

    INTERNATIONAL PADDLING COACH

MARCH 2024: Vesna Radonich (8 x World Champion and International Paddling Coach from New Zealand) was at Callala Bay on Monday, 4 March 2024. Starting with one-on-one coaching, followed by functional and steering workshops, and finishing with a late-afternoon ocean workshop in big swells, we learned so much from Vesna. We're certain that our paddling technique will improve, our confidence as ocean paddlers will grow and, as a club, we will carry forward Vesna's encouragement to share our love of paddling with others.

    PATONGA REGATTA

FEBRUARY 2024: JBOCC's novice crew and supporters were at Patonga for the Central Coast regatta, on Saturday, 17 February. With Les in the steering seat, our paddlers took advantage of a strong start to finish third in the novice 8km race. A big thank you to our friendly and generous host, Central Coast Outrigger Canoe Club, for the use of their Kamanu OC6.

    NEWCASTLE REGATTA

JANUARY 2024: A great regatta at Nobby's Beach, where our novice crew produced a strong performance in their 7km race. Challenging water and wind conditions got the better of our mixed crew taking on the Pasha Dasha's 10km short course. After a strong start, and just before reaching the buoy, the crew huli-ed. Undeterred, JBOCC paddlers had lots of fun exploring Newcastle from beneath and above the waves.

    MOLLYMOOK REGATTA

NOVEMBER 2023:  Two crews headed south to Ulladulla for the Mollymook regatta. Always a special event, our novice and short course mixed crews paddled their hearts out to produce very respectable results in their respective races. And a sincere thanks to MOCC for another well-organised and friendly regatta.

    MAKAI LAKES REGATTA

OCTOBER 2023: Our paddlers headed to Point Wolstoncroft on Lake Macquarie where they participated in the novice race at the wonderful regatta hosted by Makai Lakes OCC. Such great team spirit and a momentous start to the 2023-24 regatta season by all our paddlers.

    FIVE ISLANDS REGATTA

DECEMBER 2023: A big effort by our two crews at the thrilling Five Islands regatta, held on the South Coast, and hosted by our friends from FIOCC. We're very proud of our novice crew who produced an excellent win during their novice race.
